The Brown Scapular
The Scapular is a promise of salvation, it is the reward received from living a virtuous life on earth, just as Mary did, and as Jesus asks us to do. The Blessed Virgin has been the greatest bearer of good things known to humanity. She brought Jesus into the world over 2000 years ago; 1250 years later, she introduced the Brown Scapular to mankind, to compliment the work of her Son. Jesus came to save us and this is what the brown Scapular can also do, not independently, but in association with Christ. It is an extra aid on our arduous journey to heaven.
